Lynton
Hall
You could head for Lynton Hall on Durban’s
unspoiled South Coast.
This large Edwardian house is set in lovely
gardens and has big comfortable rooms with decorative Indian
furniture.
Lynton Hall is famous for its original food
and every Friday regular visitors from Durban descend on the
hotel for a weekend of gastronomic treats.
To counter any indulgence, the hotel provides
a massage service in your room, has good walks in the grounds
and a large pool. And the beach - where you can paddle in
the shallows - is only a short drive away.

Hotel Izulu
Or, on Durban’s North Coast and on the outskirts of
the seaside town of Umhlanga, is Hotel Izulu. This hotel is
set in charming grounds and has comfortable rooms with very
stylish décor. There is also a pleasant pool and a
poolside restaurant which serves delicious, fresh, seasonal
menus. The hotel’s excellent spa also provides most
treatments and has serious, dedicated staff.
And a few minutes’ drive away is
the lifeguard patrolled and shark-netted beach.
